Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork. Dax McCarty USA Jersey .com) - Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush and left tackle Riley Reiff are inactive for Thursdays Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears. It is the third straight game that Bush has missed due to an ankle injury as the USC product was limited in practice during the week. Reiff had suffered a left knee injury in last weeks loss at New England and was a limited participant in Wednesdays walkthrough after missing practice on Monday and Tuesday. Rookie Cornelius Lucas will make his first start at left tackle. Guard Larry Warford and defensive tackle Nick Fairley are both out with knee injuries for the Lions. Sacha Kljestan USA Jersey .Inter Milan and Napoli also advanced to ensure there will be at least three Italian clubs in the last 32 of Europes secondary competition.Spurs victory, secured by Benjamin Stamboulis 49th-minute winner, was overshadowed by a succession of pitch invasions that forced the referee to halt the game after 41 minutes. DaMarcus Beasley USA Jersey . PAUL, Minn.(SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Raptors will look to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2008 when they host the Boston Celtics tonight at the Air Canada Centre in the back end of a home and home. After picking up a rare win in Boston, the Toronto Raptors will be back on familiar ground when they host the Celtics Friday from Air Canada Centre. Terrence Ross led the Raptors with 24 points in a 99-90 triumph, while Kyle Lowry continued his recent tear with 23 and nine rebounds. DeMar DeRozan rounded out the 20-point scorers with exactly that many and Jonas Valanciunas ended with 15 points and 14 rebounds for Toronto, which has alternated results in the last six games. The Raptors broke an 11-game losing streak in Boston, last winning there on Jan. 23, 2008. "That was a character test for us," said Toronto head coach Dwane Casey. "I think this team has a lot of character. Situations were not there yet, but again its not from a lack of fight and togetherness." Casey needs three wins to reach 100 victories with the team. The Raptors last posted 40 total wins in a season in 2009-10 (40-42) and the fastest team to reach 40 wins was the 1999-00 squad after 70 games. The current unit needed 71 games to reach the mark. Lowry has scored 19 or more points in each of the last 11 games, averaging 22.5 points in that span. DeRozan is averaging more than 20 points per game against Atlantic Division foes. Toronto leads the division by 2 1/2 games ahead of Brooklyn and is even with Chicago for the third spot in the Easterrn Conference. Matt Miazga USA Jersey. Toronto is 21-14 north of the border this season. Boston has lost two in a row and nine of its last 12 games, and was paced by Jared Sullingers 26 points (19 in fourth quarter) and eight rebounds on Wednesday. "Sully (Sullinger) got hot and I thought even though we were really undersized we played pretty well in that time," said Boston head coach Brad Stevens. Avery Bradley had 16 points, Rajon Rondo chipped in nine and 15 assists and Chris Johnson added 13 points off the bench. The Celtics shot 41 percent from the floor and had a 51-7 advantage from their reserves. The Celtics will try to stop an eight-game road losing streak in Toronto and have an 8-26 mark as the visitor. Their previous road win was Feb. 10 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Celtics forward Jeff Green had six points in 20 minutes on Wednesday and is bothered by a stiff neck. Green hopes to play against the Raptors. Rondo needed stitches to close a cut on his forehead and returned to the game to cover Raptors All-Star DeRozan. "I think it obviously says a lot. He wants to play and not only, I think the most important part about it is he came back in and guarded DeRozan (DeMar)," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said of Rondo. "He went after it and I thought he did a pretty good job on him." Toronto is 2-1 against the Celtics this season, but the latter has prevailed in four of the last seven meetings between the teams. Boston has lost two straight, four of five and five of its last seven trips to Canada. ' ' '
East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork. NFL Jerseys 2020 .com) - Ben Roethlisberger carved up the Indianapolis Colts secondary last week. Eli Manning didnt have as much luck. Andrew Luck tossed three of his four touchdown passes in the third quarter, Manning completed just 12 of his first 29 throws and the Colts cruised to a 40-24 win over the New York Giants on Monday night. The Colts struggled mightily once Vontae Davis exited last Sundays game with a knee injury, surrendering 522 yards and six touchdowns to Big Ben en route to a 51-34 defeat. With the physical corner back in the lineup, however, Manning struggled to find open targets. Manning finished 27-of-52 with most of his 359 yards coming with the game already decided in the fourth quarter. Both of his TD passes came in the final frame. Luck added to his NFL-leading passing yardage total and tallied his franchise-record seventh straight 300-yard game with 354 on 25-of-46 efficiency for Indianapolis (6-3), which has won six of its last seven games since an 0-2 start. We got that bad taste out of our mouths the way we lost that last game, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. T.Y. Hilton hauled in three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown, Reggie Wayne posted four receptions for 70 yards and a score and Dwayne Allen had four catches for 48 yards and a score in the triumph. First-round rookie Odell Beckham tallied eight receptions for 156 yards for the Giants (3-5), who have dropped three in a row on the heels of a three-game winning streak. The Colts led 16-3 at the break, but put the game out of reach in the third. Hilton came down with a jump ball in the right part of the end zone against Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the Colts opening touch of the frame to make it 23-3. Rodgers-Cromartie high pointed the pass, but Hilton wrestled it away from him as the two were coming down to the ground to complete the 31-yard TD reception. Beckhams 59-yard catch and run led to an Andre Williams 1-yard TD plunge on New Yorks ensuing touch, but the Colts closed the frame with two more touchdowns. Wayne hauled in a post corner along the left sideline and broke free from Giants cornerback Jayron Hosley en route to a 40-yard touchdown. After Colts safety Sergio Brown recovered a Manning fumble forced by linebacker Jonathan Newsome, Luck flipped a 2-yard TD pass to Allen two plays later to make it 37-10. Adam Vinatieri booted a 43-yard field goal early in the fourth before Larry Donnell and Corey Washington caught TD passes in garbage time to cap the scoring. Earlier, former Giant Hakeem Nicks hauled in a 22-yard completion on a deep cross, which led to a Vinatieri 48-yard field goal to open the scoring midway through the first, and consecutive receptions by Coby Fleener made it 10-0. Fleener caught a pass along the left sideline for 21 yards and following a quick snap -- it appeared Fleener may have been bobbling the catch -- he was left free along the right sideline and strolled in for an easy 32-yard score. Josh Brown and Vinatieri traded field goals of 38 and 31 yards, respectively, late in the second, and another Vinatieri boot right before the half, this one from 48 yards, staked Indy to its 16-3 halftime advantage. Game Notes Luck leads the NFL with 3,085 passing yards ... Another former Giant, Ahmad Bradshaw, carried the ball seven times for 50 yards ... The Colts were 5-of-15 on third down, while New York finished 4-of-16 ... Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara exited the game with a torn biceps ... Giants Hall of Famer Michael Strahan was honored at halftime ... Vinatieri is 20-for-20 on field-goal attempts this year. Discount NFL Jerseys 2020 . Monahan scored 22 goals as a rookie last season and was fifth on the Flames with 34 points in 75 games. Its easy to forget Monahan doesnt turn 20 until next month. At six-foot-two and 185 pounds, he cruises into the faceoff circle with a confident demeanour. He says hes about eight pounds heavier than his rookie weight. "I focused on the stuff that I really needed to focus on, so I did a lot of strength training and explosive stuff and really focused on diet," Monahan said Monday in Calgary. When Monahan turned up wearing a tight T-shirt at a summer hockey camp run by Bob Hartley, the Flames head coach did a double take. "He just said I look like a man," Monahan said. "I worked hard this summer so I think its paid off. It obviously doesnt matter to me if other people notice it. It all comes down to me. "Whatever work I put in, I feel it on the ice and I think thats the biggest thing." Drafted sixth overall by the Flames in 2013, the centre from Brampton, Ont., had a legitimate shot at making a rebuilding Flames roster as an 18-year-old last fall. But his offensive contributions outstripped expectations. Monahan was the first Flames rookie since Jarome Iginla in 1996-97 to score 21 goals. Monahan did finish the season minus-20, but few Flames were in the black in plus-minus on a team that finished 27th in a 30-team league. Monahan put up impressive numbers despite a hairline fracture in his foot that kept him out seven straight games in November and December. With top-line centre Mikael Backlund sidelined with injury, Monahan averaged well over 18 minutes per game in the last five games of the regular season. He was then invited to play for Canada at the world championships, where he had two assists in seven games, to pack even more experience into his rookie campaign. "Suddenly hes more talkative. Its just part of feeling more confident," Hartley said. "Now he knows that he really has a spot on this team. He knows about the NHL. "We have big expectations about Monny, but what makes me feel the most comfortable is Monny by himself sets some real high expectations." Theres inevitable questions about avoiding "the sophomore slump." Monahan will no longer surprise opposing teams, so hell need that additional strength. "Heres my explanation on sophomore slump," Hartley began. "Number one, as a rookie, the other teams dont know you very well so sometimes you get the fifth or sixth defenceman, you get the third line playing against you. Sean Monahan will get much more attention from opponents this year. &quuot;Number two, and thats where I feel so good, is many young players get a great first year and they sit (on it). NFL Jerseys Wholesale. Looking at Seans fitness test, just looking at him, you can tell that he spent the summer working out. Hes on a mission. That second part doesnt worry me one bit." New Flames winger Mason Raymond spent time on Monahans wing in a split-squad exhibition game Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers. "Yeah, young kid. Here I am nine years older," Raymond said. "Hes very mature for his age. Ive skated with him for the last month, but its impressive to see how he handles himself and understands whats expected of himself. "Its a treat to play with him so far. Were learning each other and starting to gel a bit." After a few skates and the exhibition game, Hartley has noticed theres more authority in Monahans game. "Battles in the corners, probably faceoffs also," the coach said. "I felt like last night he won many big faceoffs with us. Going around the defencemen, battling for loose pucks, thats where the opponents will notice it. "Hell be able to go with the big boys and play in those tough areas. Its impressive." The Flames have several centres in camp and the depth chart is fluid up the middle. Monahan, Backlund, Matt Stajan, Joe Colborne as well as prospects Max Reinhart, Markus Granlund, Bill Arnold and Corban Knight are battling for ice time and jobs. Theres room for Monahan to up his stock at main camp in the absence of 25-year-old Backlund, who has yet to participate in a full practice because of an abdominal injury. "I dont have any news to tell you, but Im worried," Hartley said ominously. "Hes still not on the ice. Id like to see him on the ice, thats for sure." Forward Sam Bennett, the highest draft pick in Calgary Flames history at No. 4 this year, is expected to practise Tuesday after sitting out the first few days of main camp with a groin injury. Calgary got down to 58 players Monday when the following players were assigned to their respective major junior teams: defenceman Jason Fram (Spokane Chiefs); winger Brandon Magee (Victoria Royals); goaltender Mason McDonald (Charlottetown Islanders); winger Hunter Smith (Oshawa Generals). The Flames have three pre-season games in as many days starting Wednesday when they take on the Arizona Coyotes in Sylvan Lake, Alta. Calgary then plays a home-and-away against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday and Friday. Monahans mom Cathy relocated to Calgary last season to oversee her sons first year in the NHL. Monahan has taken a step forward in off-ice independence by moving in with Flames forward Lance Bouma to start this season. Who is going to cook? "Lance," Monahan said firmly. ' ' '

Bilodeau, from Montreal, won his third straight World Cup moguls event over the weekend, edging out teammate and rival Mikael Kingsbury of Deux-Montagnes, Que. Kingsbury and Marc-Antoine Gagnon of Terrebonne, Que., were also named to the early 20-athlete nomination list Monday by the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association. "In Vancouver, I showed up with a gun to my head," he said. "I wanted a medal. I put a lot of pressure on myself. Fortunately, I managed to pull myself together after working hard with my sports psychologist a week before the Games. Now, in Sochi, the work is done." Bilodeau said hes heading to Norway to tweak a few things and plans to enjoy the experience when he arrives in Russia. He has said Sochi will be his last Olympics and he admits theres a little wistfulness about that. When it came time to race this season, I was ready. "All my attention has been on one thing -- my skiing," she added. "I really stuck to my plan because I knew it would work for me." Kingsbury, who is the main contender to Bilodeaus throne, and Gagnon admitted they were excited to pull on their team jackets. "For sure Im going there on a mission but at the same time I want to enjoy the moment," said Kingsbury. "Im not just there to win the gold medal. I want to have fun. I want to have the run of my life and I know that if I accomplish that, I have a chance to win the gold medal." Gagnon said he was relieved to see his work pay off. "Its been a lot of work for four years, a lot of stress, especially during the last two years," he said. "But I always believed in my chances and I continued to work. MONTREAL -- Coach Scott Milanovich says his Toronto Argonauts are getting better. Kevin Byard Titans Jersey . They played with discipline, stuffed Montreals offence and got a big game from running back Steve Slaton in a 31-5 defeat of the punchless Alouettes on Friday night. The Argonauts (2-4) ended a three-game losing skid and, despite their record, moved into first place in the woeful CFL East Division. "It was big," said Milanovich. "The big thing was we bought into what it takes to win. "We had less penalties. We protected the ball better. We protected our quarterback and we got after their quarterback. Thats the formula. Its the first time we grasped that." Slaton, who rushed for 52 yards and caught six passes for another 48, caught a TD pass in the final minute of the first half and added another on the opening drive of the second. "Steves talented," Milanovich said of the former Houston Texan. "Unfortunately, hes been hurt for four of our first six games, but hes got some burst." Linebacker Jamie Robinson scored on a late interception off a pass by Alex Brink and kicker Swayze Waters added two field goals. The Argos also got four points on a pair of safeties in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. Toronto rebounded from a 37-9 loss at Saskatchewan last week despite a so-so game from Ray, who completed 19 of 33 passes for 186 yards. It hasnt helped the veteran QB that the Argos are missing a handful of receivers to injuries, including stars Chad Owens and Andre Durie. It helped a lot that the defence held Montreal to only 125 net yards and that, as a team, Toronto took only four penalties to Montreals 12. The Alouettes (1-4) did not score a touchdown for a second consecutive game despite switching back and forth between quarterbacks Troy Smith and Brink, with Tanner Marsh also seeing action on short yardage plays. Sean Whyte had a field goal and two singles for the Alouettes, who were coming off a bye week after a 41-5 defeat at B.C. two weeks ago. There were boos from the 20,692 at Percival Molson Stadium as they left the field at halftime. "Right now it looks like we have a two-quarterback system, even though neither quarterback played as well as we anticipated or wanted them to," said Montreal coach Tom Higgins, who made the switches based on "certain criteria" he didnt elaborate on. "So were back at the drawing board now. "Weve got to find a quarterback that can move our offence. Were not getting production from that position. I have to find a way by hook or by crook to get more than five points. Thats not going to do it in the CFL." Smith was handed the starting job out of training camp, taking on the difficult job of replacing retired all-time CFL passing leader Anthony Calvillo. He has had his moments, but still overthrows receivers regularly and does not run with the ball. Brink looked promising, but had some drives stalled by penalties. "I wasnt happy, but weve got to win,"Smith said of getting the hook. "There was no portion of me that was going to be sombre. "I have to feel Ill get better because Im the quarterback of this team. Theres no other way to think but to be positive. I will stay positive. I wont admit this is bad and its going to get worse because Im trying to do good and positive things. Well get back to the drawing board." Smith was 5-for-10 for 63 yards, while Brink went 9-for-23 for 60 yards. Neither team was able to move the ball in the first half until Ray finally led a TD drive in the final minute capped by Slatons 10-yard catch over the middle for a 10-5 lead at the intermission. A long kickoff return by Robert Gill to open the second half and a 24-yard gain on a reverse by Slaton put the ball on the Montreal five, where Ray hit Slaton for a TD at 2:57. Robinson stepped in front of Brinks throw to Eric Deslauriers and ran it back 46 yards for a TD with 1:33 left to play. Waters had booted a 30-yard field goal on the final play of the first quarter, although he missed a 38-yarder and put 48-yard attempt off the left upright. Montreal managed two singles and a 49-yard Whyte field goal in the opening half, as Smith started and was relieved in the second quarter by Brink. The teams woes were highlighted by a third-and-two gamble at the 53, after calling a time out, on which they were called for having 13 men on the field, forcing them to punt. Smith was back to start the second half, only to have Brink step in again midway through the third quarter. Montreal receiver Mardy Gilyards first CFL start didnt last long, as he left with what seems to be a serious leg injury in the first quarter after making two catches for 16 yards. Left tackle Josh Bourque left with an injury in the fourth quarter but Higgins said it may not be serious. Custom Tennessee Titans Jerseys . The Canadian defensive tackle suffered the injury on Monday and had tests done on Tuesday. Off-Season Game Plan examines a team facing some challenging times as GM Bryan Murray tries to put together a roster for next season. Perhaps the first challenge facing Murray is that its expected he will be moving out Jason Spezza, a premier point producer who is about to enter the final year of his contract.1. With the Blue Jays playing out the string this season, should the team just focus on next year or are arbitrary things like finishing with 70 wins actual goals worth accomplishing? And to that point, how much sway does (or should) the GM have on line-up decisions when teams hit this point? Lets be clear, the Jays are not winning the division or wild card. They are not finishing .500 and they are not finishing anywhere but last place in the AL East. Winning is important. It is always important. Its critical for the players to grow in confidence in themselves and their teammates. Winning helps everyone believe in the plan and direction of the organization. It can be contagious. The fans need to taste victory to grow in hope and excitement. That being said: the Jays cant focus on winning right now. I mean it would be nice to win, but Toronto needs to find some answers right now. They need to figure out who is part of the problem and who is part of the solution. John Gibbons and his staff in conjunction and cooperation with Alex Anthopoulos need to play players with whom they have questions that need answering. Can Brett Lawrie hit enough to be an everyday third baseman? Can Anthony Gose hit enough to be a starter? Is Kevin Pillar overmatched by big league pitching? Can Esmil Rogers develop his secondary pitches enough to get through the lineup a second and third time in a game? Is JP Arencibia a good enough defensive catcher? Alex Anthopoulos and John Gibbons will work closely together for the rest of the year. This is where their relationship and trust for each other will be evident. Anthopoulos will generally share his need for answers and Gibbons will manage accordingly. Gibbons is ultimately judged on wins and losses but he may have to sacrifice building his resume for the good of the organization. Gibbons will manage these games like a minor league manager where there are times that the development of the individual is more important than the ultimate result of the game. He may leave a pitcher in a bit longer to see if he can handle a tough situation. He may not pinch hit when there is an obvious better option on the bench to see if a player can handle a pressure situation. Unfortunately for Jays fans this season is over. But you may find out about how next year will look over final month of this season. 2. Last Sunday night, Ryan Dempster took four pitches to intentionally hit Alex Rodriguez. If you were his GM, how would you react to Dempsters effort to apparently plunk A-Rod for non-strategic purposes? Like or dis-like? Make no doubt about it. I believe Alex Rodriguez used PEDs throughout his career. I believe he is closely tied to Biogenesis. I believe that MLB has evidence that he recruited other players to Biogenesis. I believe he offered thousands of dollars to buy evidence and testimony to cover his tracks. I think it is awful that A-Rod likely leaked evidence to a media source to point attention to Ryan Braun and his teammate Francisco Cervelli. I can completely understand how fans are outraged by this era of baseball. I understand their anger and energy toward A-Rod as one of the poster boys for the steroid use in baseball. In fact I can understand how current and former players can be angry as well. Former players are jealous of the money that todays players make. Plus, they feel they built the game up into Americas pastime and feel the current generation has killed the reputation and credibility of the game by cheating. Current players feel like the cheaters are taking money out of their pockets. Ryan Dempster was mad at A-Rod possibly because of his cheating or maybe because A-Rod ratted out other players. It has been reported that Dempster may have hit Rodriguez because A-Rod blew him off at a function last year. Whatever the reason, Ryan Dempster went into the Red Sox/Yankees game last Sunday with vengeance on his mind. It was premeditated and clear. He was going to throw at Alex Rodriguez. In the fallout, Dempster was suspended for five games which ultimately is of little harm to the Sox. With an off-day yesterday and again on Tuesday the Sox can cover Dempsters start on Saturday without missing a beat. Even though I share some of the same anger that Ryan Dempster does for A-Rod, even though I can understand how if you feel that someone took money from you that you might want to throw a ball at him, I cant condone what Dempster did. If I were the Red Sox GM I would be livid. I would pull Ryan Dempster in to my office and tell him he was selfish. He put his personal feelings ahead of what is best for the team. Dempster put himself and his teammates at risk. A fight could have broken out if A-Rod charged the mound. The Yankees could have retaliated and injured a Red Sox player as well. David Ortiz has spoken out about how wrong Dempster was to hit A-Rod. He pointed out that you shouldnt wake the sleeping giant. If the Yankees make the playoffs they may vote Dempster a playoff share of their money because he has inspired tremendous energy from them. New York now stands just 3.5 games out of a wild card spot. After airing out Dempster I would tell him not to make it so obvious the next time. 3. Ichiro became only the third player in baseball history to reach 4000 career hits this week. Since over 1200 of those hits came when he played in Japan, how do you view the milestone and where does he rank on your list of great hitters of this generation? Ichiro is an amazing baseball story There are only 6 players who have had 4,000 hits in the majors and minors combined: Pete Rose, Ty Cobb, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial and Jigger Statz (a little-known player who had almost all of his hits in the minors) and now Ichiro. There are only two players who reached the 4,000-hit threshold in major league history: Pete Rose and Ty Cobb. Whether we count Japan as a major league or a minor league - or something in between - determines whether or not Ichiro joins Cobb and Rose. Japanese professional baseball is of very high quality. From my experience it is better than AAA baseballl but below major league baseball caliber. Earl Campbell Womens Jersey. Therefore, I only look at Ichiro as having 2722 major league hits. In his first year in the Sates Ichiro had 242 hits and won Rookie of the Year and MVP. He was 27. He could have thrived in the U.S. well before he finally got here. It is too bad he didnt have that opportunity. I believe that if he had played in the U.S. his entire career we would still have celebrated the 4,000 hit threshold with Ichiro. In fact, we might have been celebrating it a year or two ago. The Japanese season is about 20-30 games shorter than the U.S. schedule. Playing in Japan cost Ichiro almost a full seasons worth of at bats he would have otherwise gotten in the major leagues over the seven years he spent in Japan. I love Pete Rose. He was one of my favorite players as a kid. He is the Hit King but only because Ichiro didnt have the same opportunities to log major league at bats. So, to me, Ichiro is the second best hitter ever and that is pretty darn good too. Fair or Foul Ryan Braun finally issued his long-awaited apology and admission for using performance enhancing drugs on Thursday. It fell far short of what I expected; Far short of what was necessary. It opened up so many more questions. Who advises these guys? I mean really does anyone proof read this stuff before they send it out? Can they not anticipate how it will be received and interpreted? Ryan Braun admitted he took PEDs in 2011 to deal with a nagging injury. “During the latter part of the 2011 season, I was dealing with a nagging injury and I turned to products for a short period of time that I shouldnt have used. The products were a cream and a lozenge which I was told could help expedite my rehabilitation.” Ok so who told you what the drugs could do for you? Did you get them from Biogenesis? Define “short period of time”? Did you use PEDs at any other time? Braun said he had a revelation that it was time to come clean. “After my interview with MLB in late June of this year, I came to the realization that it was time to come to grips with the truth. I was never presented with baseballs evidence against me, but I didnt need to be, because I knew what I had done. I realized the magnitude of my poor decisions and finally focused on dealing with the realities of-and the punishment for-my actions.” What is the evidence that MLB had against you? Would you ever have been tormented enough to just tell the truth or did it take getting caught again? Why did you accept 65 games? What is the significance of it? In anticipation of having to answer questions about additional claims made by a former friend who has filed a lawsuit against Braun because he didnt pay him for his helping in his appeal against MLB in 2011 he said: “There has been plenty of rumor and speculation about my situation, and I am aware that my admission may result in additional attacks and accusations from others.” Which of the allegations made by your former friend are true? Have you used PEDs since college? Did you lie to Aaron Rodgers and the owner of your restaurants? Did you lie to Mark Attanasio the owner of the Brewers when negotiating your $100 million contract? Did you engage in academic misconduct in high school and college as your friend alleged? Braun apologized to a specific group of people but left some out: “I have privately expressed my apologies to Commissioner Selig and Rob Manfred of MLB and to Michael Weiner and his staff at the Players Association. Im very grateful for the support Ive received from them. I sincerely apologize to everybody involved in the arbitration process, including the collector, Dino Laurenzi, Jr. I feel terrible that I put my teammates in a position where they were asked some very difficult and uncomfortable questions.” Do you understand that you can face a defamation of character lawsuit from Dino Laurenzi Jr. because you are admitting that you knowingly made up claims about him to cause harm and help yourself? Why did you call Dino Laurenzi an anti-semite? Why did you use your religion as a weapon in this fight? Dont you need to apologize to other players for cheating against them? The arbitrator that ruled in your favor in the appeal lost his job because MLB didnt like his ruling. Do you understand that if you didnt lie then that arbitrator would still have his job? Braun talked about his values and character and the work he has ahead of him to change the perception people have of him: “What I did goes against everything I have always valued -- achieving through hard work and dedication, and being honest both on and off the field. I also understand that I will now have to work very, very hard to begin to earn back peoples trust and support. I am dedicated to making amends and to earning back the trust of my teammates, the fans, the entire Brewers organization, my sponsors, advisors and from MLB.” Why should we believe you havent cheated in the past, prior to 2011? What does making amends mean to you? Are you going to do public service announcements about steroids? What else could come out that will further compromise how we look at you? Why did you throw others under the bus? Do you understand your responsibility as a role model? I am dumbfounded that Brauns advisors thought a statement of apology like this was appropriate. He took to the microphone with anger and defiance when he lied in 2011. He was incredulous. If you lie to someones face you should have the courage to apologize to his or her face as well. Braun did not give any insight to the depth of his relationship with Biogenesis. He did not comment on how often he has used PEDs. If Ryan Braun thinks that this statement suffices he is crazy. He cant show up in Spring Training and “no comment” us to death. He needs to speak and answer questions. Then and only then will he be able to start to heal his image and reputation. Puke out the truth; the whole truth; nothing but the truth. He hasnt even come close to doing that so far. ' ' '
DETROIT - David Price allowed a homer to start the bottom of the ninth inning — and that was only the beginning of his problems as he tried to close out a win. Jamie Benn Jersey . Rain began falling steadily at Comerica Park, a streak of lightning flashed in the sky behind centre field and loud thunder claps accompanied the Tampa Bay All-Stars pursuit of a complete game. "It was crazy. I wasnt really looking up," manager Joe Maddon said. "Just trying to get David through it." Eventually, Maddon gave in, removing Price with two on and two out. The Rays held on for a 7-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday night to climb out of last place in the AL East. The Rays have won three straight and eight of nine to move a half-game ahead of defending champion Boston in the standings. Tampa Bay had sole possession of the cellar for 39 consecutive days. Price (8-7) received his fourth All-Star selection before the game, and he allowed three runs and seven hits before being pulled amid a brief spell of bad weather in the ninth. Jake McGee came on and got the final out for his fifth save in six chances. Rick Porcello (11-5) allowed seven runs and 11 hits in 5 2-3 innings. Matt Joyce and Desmond Jennings homered for Tampa Bay, and Torii Hunter and J.D. Martinez went deep for Detroit. The Rays had 19 hits, including four each by Ben Zobrist and Sean Rodriguez. Price struck out six and walked three, throwing 107 pitches. Martinez led off the Detroit ninth with a homer, and Price was able to get only two more outs. Price said he was somewhat fortunate to make it that far. "I guess I got 26 outs, and I would say at least 15 of them were hit right on the screws. I was asking for some at em balls yesterday and I got them," he said. "I dont know if Ive ever seen that many hard-hit balls turned into outs off a starter." The AL Central-leading Tigers put three players on the All-Star team — Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and Max Scherzer. Porcello is a candidate in online voting for the final American League spot. "Very happy for my teammates that have made the team, and obviously honoured to be included in the final vote," Porcello said. "A lot of good pitchers out there." Porcello was coming off back-to-back shutouts, but his 25-inning scoreless streak ended before he could retire a batter. Jennings led off with a double and scored on Zobrists single. Then Joyces drive was ruled a home run after a review — it hit the railing just above the wall in right field — to give the Rays a 3-0 lead in the first. Price went at least eight innings for the fifth time in his last six starts. It was his 15th straight outing of at least 100 pitches. Price could be a prime trade target for contenders over the next few weeks, although Tampa Bays recent run means the Rays arent totally out of post-season contention. Tampa Bay is 8 1/2 games behind first-place Baltimore in the AL East, and the Rays trail Seattle by the same margin for the second wild card. The Tigers, meanwhile, still lead their division by four games after losing three of four to Tampa Bay. With Price on the mound, the Rays were in good shape after scoring three runs in the first. In the fifth, Evan Longoria added an RBI single to make it 4-1. Tampa Bay scored three more in the sixth. With men on first and third and one out, Kevin Kiermaier hit a grounder to second that was nearly a double play, but he beat the relay to first for an RBI fielders choice. That made it 5-1 and kept the inning going. Jennings followed with a homer to left-centre. Jennings also made sliding catches in centre field in the sixth and seventh. Hunter led off the seventh with a solo shot, his 11th homer of the year. Detroit might have scored another run that inning on Austin Jacksons line drive to the corner in left. But Eugenio Suarez, trying to score from first, lost his footing on the grass outside the baseline and fell about halfway between third and home, giving the Rays an easy out at the plate. ESPNs Buster Olney reports that the league is reviewing Sunday nights game in Boston to see if it will hand down further discipline after Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster hit Rodriguez. Both benches were warned and Yankees manager Joe Girardi was ejected after arguing with umpire Brian ONora. Rodriguez then hit the 649th homer of his career to start a four-run sixth inning that carried New York to a 9-6 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night. Rodriguez, who went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs, was suspended recently for 211 games by Major League Baseball in the Biogenesis drug case. He appealed the penalty and can play until there is a final decision. "Whether you like me or hate me, whats wrong is wrong," he said of being hit. "That was unprofessional and silly." And Girardi said Dempster should have been ejected and should be suspended. Rodriguez declined to comment on any punishment for the pitcher. "Im the wrong guy to be asking about suspensions," he said with a smile. According to Olney, Washington Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg and manager Davey Johnson could also face discipline from MLB. Braves pitchers hit Harper with two pitches in Atlantas win over the Nats on Friday night. Strasburg then hit Justin Upton in the first inning on Saturday night and was ejected after throwing two straight pitches behind Andrelton Simmons back. ' ' '
MONTREAL -- Rachel Homan started defence of her Scotties Tournament of Hearts title in style. Y.A. Tittle Womens Jersey . Homan and her Team Canada (1-0) rink from Ottawa scored four in the eighth end for an 8-3 victory over Manitobas Chelsea Carey (0-1) on Saturday night at the Maurice Richard Arena. "The team played really well in front of me," said Homan, the winner last year in Kingston, Ont. "It was a tough battle. It was 4-3 and then one big end kind of ended it. My team just really had it today." It was a nervy but successful start for Val Sweetings Alberta rink. The Sweeting team (2-0) with lead Rachel Pidherny, second Dana Ferguson and third Joanne Courtney scored three points in the ninth end for a comeback 7-5 victory over 20-year-old newcomer Sarah Koltun (0-1) of the Yukon and Northwest Territories in the opening draw. In the evening, Sweeting took the early lead, wasted it, and then scored two in an extra end for an 8-6 win over 22-year-old Kesa van Osch of British Columbia (1-1). Heather Strong (2-0) of Newfoundland used the shot of the day to edge the home team, Quebecs Allison Ross (0-2), 5-4 with a raised angle takeout on the final shot. Stefanie Lawton (1-0) of Saskatchewan downed Allison Flaxeys Ontario rink (0-1) 8-6. Koltun looked ready for an upset when she stole a point for a 4-1 lead in the fifth end to throw a scare into 26-year-old Sweeting, a youngster herself in only her second Scotties. "They were outplaying us for sure," said Sweeting. "We set up some good ends and she made some good draws to save them, but we stayed patient and had an opportunity in the ninth and took advantage. "Im happy to get out of that one with a win, but we definitely have to sharpen up. We knew we couldnt take them lightly. Its their first time here and they have nothing to lose." A miss by Koltun with her first stone in the ninth set up the decisive steal by Alberta. Sweetings rink kept the house clear in the 10th and left no chance for the Whitehorse skip to force an extra end. Koltun is the youngest skip ever to play in the Scotties and is the first to skip at the Canadian junior and Scotties championships in the same year. She went 5-4 at the juniors two weeks ago in Liverpool, N.S. with two of her three teammates at the Scotties. She skipped a record seven times at national junior championships and is considered among the rising talents in the sport. But she may have let one get away in her debut. "We were in control at the beginning and it was just that one bad end, but its our first game at our first Scotties so well take what we can from it," said Koltun. "We are happy to be here, but we want to contend and be competitive and I think we showed that in this first game by putting up a really strong fight." Quebecs Allison Ross had a disappointing start as she failed to score until she picked up one point in the eighth end. After scoring, Ross conceded a 6-1 victory to New Brunswicks Andrea Crawford. The Quebec side from Montreal curled only 64 per cent as a group, lowest of the day. She found her draw weight in her evening match against Strong, which had the crowd of 1,825 roaring, but fell short when the Newfoundland skip pulled off her winning takeout. "I was reading the ice better," said Ross. "Its a disappointing loss, but Heather made an amazing shot. You want to leave the other team a hard shot, and she made it." Strong had won the Hot Shots competition -- a pre-tournament skills exhibition -- on Saturday morning and it may have helped her against Quebec. "A lot of the (Hot Shots) are indicative of what you face in game, so I referred back to that a lot," she said. "I felt good when I threw it, but I was coming off missing the one right before it, so I was a little torn. "We were exhausted. It was late back home. There were the opening ceremonies, we were in the Hot Shots right through. It was a long day, so to pull off that second win was awesome." Strong had won her first match as she took a 6-2 lead after six ends, then had to hold off a charge from Nova Scotias Heather Smith (0-1) for an 8-5 victory. Van Osch needed an extra end to defeat Kim Dolans Prince Edward Island rink 7-4. The 22-year-old from Victoria admitted to feeling nervous in her debut match, but settled down as it went on against the veteran Dolan, who is in her 10th Scotties. Van Osch said she hasnt set any goals for the tournament. "Were a first-year team," she said. "It was a bonus just to make it to the Scotties this year. Were taking things as they come, game by game." A Swiss Federal Tribunal ruling published Friday said that FIFAs disputes panel and the Court of Arbitration for Sport correctly imposed the sanction for Nantes enticing Guinea forward Ismael Bangoura to break his contract with Dubai club Al Nasr in January 2012. Nantes, which is 15th in the 20-team French league, previously had the ban frozen pending the federal verdict. "We can confirm that the registration ban will have to be served during the upcoming summer 2014 and winter 2015 registration periods," FIFA said in a statement to The Associated Press. Nantes can sell and release players but is barred from registering new signings with the French Football Federation. The club and player had argued Bangoura could leave Dubai upon returning from the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations because his salary was unpaid. The Swiss federal court said the players separate appeal against the CAS ruling was filed too late to be accepted. Nantes won the most recent of its eight French league titles in 2001. It was a Champions League semifinalist in 1996. The Canaries were relegated in 2009 and spent four years in the second tier until winning promotion last season. The Swiss federal tribunal also ordered Nantes to pay 22,000 Swiss francs ($25,000) to both FIFA and Al Nasr, and 20,000 Swiss francs ($22,800) in court costs. ' ' '

So is his self-confidence. Lecavalier capped a topsy-turvy finish by scoring with 15 seconds left, sending the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. It was his first goal since Nov. 27, a 22-game span that included nine games he missed with a back injury. "It felt good. Theyve been hard to come by since I got back from my injury," Lecavalier said. "Sometimes a goal like that will kind of, I dont want to say jumpstart, but get more confidence and keep going." The goal came during a scramble in the Sabres end and after Lecavalier missed on two other chances in the final 2-plus minutes. After his initial shot just missed the net, teammate Matt Read dug out a loose puck to the left of the Buffalo net and fed Lecavalier, who one-timed a shot from the left circle. The goal capped a furious finish in which the teams traded leads twice by combining to score four times in the final 6:32. Scott Hartnell had a goal and two assists, while Brayden Schenn and Jakub Voracek also scored in helping Philadelphia snap a two-game skid. Wayne Simmonds had two assists for the Flyers (24-19-4), who improved to 8-3 in their past 11 games. It was a game in which the Flyers twice rallied from one-goal deficits, and won for the eighth time this season when trailing in the third period. "Never give up, thats probably the biggest thing," said Hartnell, who has five goals and eight assists in his past 13 games. "We showed a lot of character, especially late there coming back." The Sabres, by comparison, wilted in what proved to be yet another reflection of why the young and patchwork teams NHL-worst record dropped to 13-27-5. Cody Hodgson and Matt DAgostini each had a goal and assist for Buffalo, which had an eight-game home point streak snapped at 6-0-2. Tyler Ennis also scored and Steve Ott set up two for the Sabres. "Missed assignments, not determined enough to battle for the puck, spinning and turning off hits, not getting an inch in the lanes, all of the above," interim coach Ted Nolan said, assessing what went wrong. "We just didnnt do what we were supposed to do at the end. Clearance Football Jerseys Throwback. ." Nolan could add undisciplined penalties to the list. The Flyers converted two of six power-play chances, including Hartnells goal that put Philadelphia ahead 3-2 with Buffalos Zenon Konopka off for goalie interference. The Sabres squandered a rare offensive outburst, and blew a chance to win consecutive games for only the third time this season. Buffalo managed three goals in regulation for the first time in 10 games and only the ninth time this season. Buffalo also wasted what was a solid outing by backup goalie Jhonas Enroth, who stopped 29 shots but got little help in front on all four Flyers goals. That included Lecavaliers goal, during which a Sabres defender pushed a Flyers player into Enroth. Enroth did make a highlight-reel save on Claude Giroux 12 minutes into the first period, when he dived to his right and punched his glove out to stop the shot. The goalie also robbed Lecavalier with 2:23 left, when the forwards centring pass from a bad angle struck Sabres defenceman Mike Weber in front. The puck fluttered toward the net before Enroth dropped his stick and managed to smother it in the crease. The top-seeded American earned her sixth Aussie Open title and 19th career Grand Slam championship with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) triumph over Maria Sharapova on Saturday at Rod Laver Arena. Williams won in Melbourne for the first time since 2010, finishing the match with an ace in the second-set tiebreaker on her third championship point. She now owns the second-most womens Grand Slam titles in the Open Era, surpassing legends Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova. Only Steffi Graf has more with 22. Sharapova was trying for a second Australian Open title. She fell to 2-17 lifetime against Williams and has lost the last 16 meetings. The 33-year-old Williams notched her 65th career title and has captured the last two Grand Slam events, taking the U.S. Open crown last September. Williams had a break point opportunity in the opening game of the match when Sharapova fired a backhand wide. A double fault quickly gave Williams the early advantage. The players were locked at 30-30 in the sixth game when rain forced the closing of the roof. Williams hardly seemed affected by the delay, following an ace with a strong forehand winner to complete the hold for a 4-2 lead. A double fault gave Williams three break points in the next game, but she only needed one as Sharapova fired a backhand long. Sharapova broke back, but Williams responded to the poor service game with a break at love to take the first set. Williams continued her strong play into the secondd set with a hold at love, then had two more break points in the next game. Devin Mesoraco Mets Jersey. Sharapova, though, regrouped and managed to save both before holding. Each player had a break chance midway through the second set, but Williams failed to convert her opportunity with a wide backhand in the sixth game and Sharapova sent a forehand wide in the seventh game. Another Sharapova forehand error gave Williams her first championship point in the 10th game, but the Russian came up with a big serve that Williams barely returned. Sharapova followed with a blistering forehand that drew applause from the American. After Williams held with an ace, Sharapova held at love to force the tiebreak. Sharapova won the first point of the tiebreak with a forehand return winner, but Williams won the next four to take control. At 6-4, Sharapova came up with a forehand that Williams could not return to save a second championship point. Williams then blasted what appeared to be an ace to win the title, but it was ruled a let. She dropped her racket in disbelief, then followed with the same serve. This one did not tip the tape and she dropped her racket again, but in exultation. Sharapova fell to 5-5 all-time in Grand Slam finals, including 1-3 against Williams. The only victory came in the 2004 Wimbledon title match. Williams also beat Sharapova for the 2007 Australian Open crown and for the 2013 French Open title. The 27-year-old Sharapovas lone Australian Open championship came in 2008 against Ana Ivanovic. She also lost the 2012 final against Victoria Azarenka. ' ' '
LEXINGTON, Ky. Baker Mayfield Jersey . -- Dak Prescott accounted for three touchdowns, Josh Robinson rushed for two TDs and top-ranked Mississippi State beat Kentucky 45-31 on Saturday. Playing for the first time atop the rankings, the Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) showed no rust coming off a bye. That was a good thing in a wild game that resembled a shootout at times, which Mississippi State won with timely touchdowns that held off the stubborn Wildcats (5-3, 2-3). Kentucky got within a touchdown four times, and Heisman Trophy hopeful Prescott and Robinson answered with TDs on three occasions. Prescott ran for TDs of 2 and 11 yards and hit Brandon Hill for an 8-yard TD. Robinsons 73-yard touchdown run early in the fourth for a 38-24 lead proved critical after Patrick Towles 4-yard TD dive with 2:31 remaining brought Kentucky within 38-31. Christian Holmes 61-yard kickoff return TD nine seconds later provided the Bulldogs final answer. Robinson, who rushed for 198 yards on 23 carries, capped Mississippi States opening drive with a 12-yard TD run. Prescott completed 18 of 33 passes for 216 yards with an interception and rushed for 88 yards on 18 carries. Mississippi State outgained Kentucky 542-504 and needed every yard. Those big contributions helped Bulldogs win their 10th straight game dating back to last season. They also earned their sixth straight win over the Wildcats in tying the series at 21 wins each. But typical of a competitive series where four of the past six games have been decided by a touchdown or less, Mississippi State couldnt exhale until the final gun. Thats because Kentucky used big plays to stay close as Towles hit Demarco Robinson for a game-tying 67-yard touchdown in the first quarter and Javess Blue for a 58-yard TD late in the third. Towles 48-yard run in that quarter set up his 10-yard run that brought the Wildcats within 24-17. Towles finished with 390 yards on 24-of-43 passing and led Kentucky with 76 yards rushing on 23 carries. He was following the lead set early and often by Prescott. After forcing Kentucky to punt on its opening drive, Prescott completed his first five passes for 56 yards to quickly move Mississippi State into Kentucky territory. But Prescotts biggest play was recovering his own fumble at the Wildcats 13 after a 3-yard gain, extending the drive and setting up Josh Robinsons walk-in touchdown on the next play. Kentucky responded quickly with Towles TD pass to Robinson that got the sellout homecoming crowd of 64,791 back in the game. If going up to snag the high pass wasnt impressive enough, Robinson managed to keep his feet inbounds as he came down while shaking off the defender. Robinson dodged a couple more tackles on his way to the end zone, giving Kentucky the momentum boost it needed, and the big play it lacked in last weeks 41-3 throttling at LSU. But the Wildcats werent done. Mississippi State scored 10 straight points, converting Braylon Heards fumble into Evan Sobiesks 26-yard field goal and capping a 68-yard drive with Prescotts 2-yard run. Austin MacGinnis 34-yard field goal brought Kentucky within a touchdown and the Wildcats got another chance to narrow the lead before halftime. Mississippi State began the second half strongly behind leading rusher Robinson, who got the Bulldogs into Kentucky territory with three straight carries for 34 yards to the 28. Prescott finished things off five plays later with a bullish 11-yard TD run for a 24-10 lead that still wasnt safe. Towles 48-yard run to Mississippi States 38 and three passes for 33 yards got Kentucky to the 5 before the sophomore was sacked for a 5-yard loss. Towles responded with a gutsy 10-yard run and spin over the goal line for the TD. Odell Beckham Jr Browns Jersey . "I met her, I think, a week ago. We went to a Norwood hockey store and picked her out some gear. Sione Takitaki Jersey . -- The Chiefs have signed seven players to reserve/future contracts, including running back Joe McKnight, a former fourth-round pick of the New York Jets. CHICAGO -- D.J. Augustin came into the league with high expectations. He came to Chicago simply looking for another chance. Augustin delivered on Saturday, scoring 18 points to help the short-handed Bulls beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 100-84 and snap a four-game losing streak. Carlos Boozer led the way with 19 points, and rookie Tony Snell came on strong in the second half to finish with 17 points. Chicago prevailed after matching its longest slide of the season and its longest in four years under coach Tom Thibodeau. "As we get bodies back, D.J. gets comfortable, I said all along that I have great belief in this team," Thibodeau said. Augustin looked like a guy whos settling in. He played more than 46 minutes, hitting 4 of 6 3-pointers while dishing out 10 assists. He did commit five turnovers. But overall it was a good night for a former first-round draft pick whose career hasnt quite gone the way he hoped. Augustin found himself in a limited role with Indiana last season after spending his first four years in Charlotte, and he was waived by Toronto this year before being signed by the Bulls last week. "The Indiana situation, I had some good games there," Augustin said. "At the same time, it was tough. The style of play maybe didnt fit me a little bit. Coach (Frank) Vogel had his guy that he went with, he played the majority of the minutes. I kind of knew that going in. The Toronto situation, I dont know what happened there. But I just tried to stay professional and just keep myself ready." Boozer and Augustin both got off to strong starts as the Bulls built a 17-point halftime lead, and Chicago withstood several pushes down the stretch to come away with the win after dropping 13 of 16. The Bulls shot nearly 54 per cent overall and were 10 of 15 on 3-pointers against a weak defence. Boozer hit 8 of 14 shots. Snell nailed five 3s -- four in the second half -- and finished one point off his career high. Taj Gibson scored 15 points. Joakim Noah grabbed 18 rebounds, and Chicago got a reprieve from the losinng despite all its injuries. Jim Brown Jersey. Besides Derrick Rose, the Bulls were also missing the injured Luol Deng (sore left Achilles), Jimmy Butler (sprained right ankle) and Kirk Hinrich (back). But they still had enough to beat Cleveland. "There were a lot of things I saw our team do that you just kind of sit back and go, Is this really us?" coach Mike Brown said. Andrew Bynum had 19 points for the Cavaliers, but Kyrie Irving had a rough night. He finished with 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting after fighting through an illness to score 39 in Fridays overtime win over Milwaukee, and the Cavaliers lost for the third time in four games. It didnt help that they were missing second-leading scorer Dion Waiters, who sat out his second straight game because of a sore right wrist. "Theres no excuses, we just didnt execute on both ends of the floor," Irving said. The Bulls saw a 19-point lead early in the third shrink to 68-61 late in the quarter. But a basket by Gibson and back-to-back 3-pointers by Snell bumped the lead to 81-65. The Cavaliers made another run in the fourth, cutting their deficit to 85-76 on Matthew Dellavedovas 3, but Chicago hung on. NOTES: Brown expressed sympathy for Kobe Bryant over the Lakers stars most recent injury. "You feel bad for him because of how hard he works, how bad he wants it," Brown said. "To see him go through the last two injuries, especially at this point of his career, makes it tough, makes it tough, so you feel bad for him." Brown was fired by the Lakers early last season and returned to Cleveland for a second tenure in April. ... No. 1 draft pick Anthony Bennett sat out his second straight game for Cleveland because of an illness. ... Deng, averaging 19.6 points, missed his second straight game for Chicago because of a sore left Achilles tendon. Butler left Thursdays game at Oklahoma City because of a sprained right ankle. The Bulls were hoping Hinrich would return from an ailing back against Cleveland. Instead, he missed his fifth straight game. ' ' '
